Fisher Phillips Opens Miami Office with Zumpano Castro Team

Fisher Phillips opens Miami office with Zumpano Castro team

If you're an attorney in South Florida considering new options, we'd love to speak with you.

Fisher Phillips launched its Miami office this week, effective October 1, built around a seven-lawyer team from Zumpano Castro. Carlos A. Zumpano, Daniel Zumpano, Joe Ruiz, and Giselle Ortiz Del Amo come in as partners, with Tony Castro and Stephen Machin as of counsel and Emilio Dominguez as associate. Carlos Zumpano will run the office as Regional Managing Partner.

For two years the office operates as "Fisher Phillips Zumpano," and most of the team keeps their roles at Zumpano Castro. The firms stay separate.

My take

Pairing a national platform with an established local name is a common way for firms to enter a new market, and Miami is a market where local relationships carry real weight. Fisher Phillips gets an experienced team with an existing client base and a PEO practice that complements its own. The Zumpano Castro lawyers get the resources and reach of a large national firm. The two-year structure gives both sides time to build the office before it fully carries the Fisher Phillips name.

In a relationship-driven market like Miami, a local name with a track record helps.

What this means for you:

If you do labor and employment in Miami, it's worth knowing there's a larger platform in town. And, we may see some new openings from Fisher Phillips Zumpano's Miami office soon.

Update: October 2nd, 2026, the Chairman of Fisher Phillips, John Polson told the SFBJ that they plan to bring on about 12 new attorneys for their new Coral Gables office throughout 2027. This is big news for L&E attorneys.
